| Help with the Star/Pal Kids Fishing Derby | Chollas Lake | June 14-15 | 10 am - ~1 pm | Volunteers will be needed on Friday June 14 to assemble rods and reels at the picnic shelter at the north end of the parking lot. June 15, volunteers are needed to repair rods and reels, assist the kids in fishing. Lunches will be supplied on both days, coffee and rolls will be available on Saturday starting at 6:30 am. | Lend-A-Rod Program | Chollas Lake, Lend-A-Rod Shack | Sundays | 10AM-2 PM | SDFF Volunteers work at the Lend-A-Rod shack loaning rods,reels & bait to young fishers. Fishing instruction (conventional, not fly casting) is also provided to youngsters who visit Chollas Lake. |
| Fly Tying Congress | San Carlos Recreation Center | Thursdays | 6:30 PM | Free. Come learn or share new patterns. For info on upcoming classes, contact our fly tying coordinator. |
