Jack Bentley, Bob Miller, and I were lucky enough to be able to fill a cancellation that
Tom Loe had at Eagle Lake near Susanville. One of his clients couldn't make it so he
called Jack. Fortunately, we were all free and could fill in. It was a long drive, 12
hours, but worth the effort. Eagle Lake has some large trout! We caught about 10 fish each
a day and most were 20+ inches. They were strong fighters and we were worn out after 3
days on the lake. We stayed in a lodge that Tom leases and Tom's wife Michelle, cooked for
us. Deluxe! Tom doesn't advertise this as he only has limited time and space at Eagle
Lake. He has clients booked a year ahead.
